Little Wonders

As you might (or might not) know, Little Wonders is the title of a Rob Thomas song that was part of the Disney movie, Meet the Robinsons. The moment I saw the movie and heard the song, it became my favorite. I listened to that part of the movie over and over to try to learn the words to the song. I found the lyrics online and I just think they're so powerful (albeit, repetitive at times) and I wanted to include them here anyway. They so clearly state what being a parent is all about, and what I want to convey to my children... and as a matter of fact, how I feel about a lot of things... [Rob Thomas lyrics are found at www.songlyrics.com]...

let it go,
let it roll right off your shoulder
don't you know
the hardest part is over
let it in,
let your clarity define you
in the end
we will only just remember how it feels

our lives are made
in these small hours
these little wonders,
these twists & turns of fate
time falls away,
but these small hours,
these small hours still remain

let it slide,
let your troubles fall behind you
let it shine
until you feel it all around you
and i don't mind
if it's me you need to turn to
we'll get by,
it's the heart that really matters in the end

our lives are made
in these small hours
these little wonders,
these twists & turns of fate
time falls away,
but these small hours,
these small hours still remain

all of my regret
will wash away some how
but i can not forget
the way i feel right now

in these small hours
these little wonders
these twists & turns of fate
these twists & turns of fate
time falls away but these small hours
these small hours, still remain,
still remain
these little wonders
these twists & turns of fate
time falls away
but these small hours
these little wonders still remain

Welcome

From the moment I became a mom, I've been in awe of the stages and phases of life... from pregnancy, to birth, to walking, talking (and talking back), all the up's & down's of being a parent, as well as the wisdom gained with age. Now that I have a 14 yr old, an 11 yr old and an almost 3 yr old, I've finally decided to put some of those thoughts & feelings into words.

While I may use this blog for an occasional rant &/or vent, my intent is to focus on the positive, humorous, curious and interesting aspects of being a parent. So, this blog will be about the little wonders of everyday life, as well as my perspective as a single parent. Thanks for stopping by. I hope my perspective gives you insight and opens up some "little wonders" of your own.
